    The many passages that the Bible offers in way of lineage has often been boring and cumbersome for me, until I started learning more about the Koran.     Herod was 1/2 Jewish but completely Roman. He was fearful of the prophecy in Micah 5:2 and that someone else might take his throne. History tells us that he had already killed one of his wives and her sons and some other sons for fear that they would succeed his throne. He was a ruthless man. Interesting to me, the people of this day knew the significance of Jesus' birth. It caused great distress to Herod.
