In the first verse of Chapter 4 (NLT) it says "we never give up". Then if you jump to verse 16, it says in the NLT "That is why we never give up". rrusilowicz added a text contribution Beauty in the eye of the beholderWhen we look at the beauty of a woman, we MUST not look at the flesh, for if we do, we run into the very real trouble of finding someone who looks good on the outside, but on the outside is like a viper. As the old adage goes, beauty is only skin deep. Let women beautify themselves with the Word of God. Nothing is more attractive to a believer in the bible, then a Godly woman, even though she may not be "all that" physically. Read more »

rrusilowicz added a text contribution Debate ClubDo you know people who just love to debate? I do! I used to love to debate, but all that ended up happening was 2 people expanding alot of hot air. Here Paul tells Timothy not to engage in useless debates, but to simply present the gospel and let God handle the rest. Instead , he says, spend your time on training yourself in holiness. Training requires exercise, exercise in the Word. Read more »

He is encouraging the believers there with the knowledge that, unlike many people that start something, but never finish it to completion, God, when he starts something, WILL finish it to completion.
