    The Commandments or God's Word give us direction that keeps people out of so many problems. I don't know how many foolish thing I have done which might have been prevent if I had only known and remembered what God teaches in His word. The commandments are not just rules "not to be broken" but they keep the evil and death of the world outside at bay. Read more »

    The ant is a good example of being motivated from within to do what is wise. Too often the sluggard or the lazybones needs someone else to get them moving in the right direction.     Is the word "desire" here a positive (motivated by love) kind of desire or is it the kind of desire that seeks what it can't have? Is this desire about seeking something that belongs to someone else? Look also at Genesis 4:7 for the same word. Here sin seeks to "have him". This sounds like a negative motive and thus God makes the warning. Read more »

    What happens to fig leaves when they are removed from their source of life? They dry up. Fallen people tend to choose solutions for eternity which do not last. It was God who finally stepped in to provide a lasting covering for us all in His Son, Jesus Christ. Read more »
