    My version: In my distress (not when things are just peachy, but when things are ugly) I called to the Lord (not my friends, family, addictions, or compulsions). I gave up the ugly cry to my God because I desperately needed His help now. From His home (in me) He heard my voice (that for so long I didn't feel worthy to use); MY cry (the ugly one) came before HIM right into HIS ears!!!     1 Peter 2:4-10 It's always exciting when I receive something new and fresh from scripture I've heard countless times. God is so good.     1 Peter 2:1-3 I felt that last night I should directly apply what I read. I needed to ask myself some hard questions. Am I getting rid of all my malicious behavior, my deceit, my hypocrisy, MY JEALOUSY, and my backstabbing? Or am I just pretending to be good? Think about that for a minute. Am I sincere?     1 Peter 1:17-25 The Main idea I get from these verses is that my self-centered life was paid for with His sinless perfect one. Because of what He did, I can move beyond my temporary self-centered existence. I CAN live for the eternal, the things that really matter, the things that will last. I can follow His lead of sacrifricing myself, my ego. I can love my brothers and sisters with a SINCERE and INTENSE love. I don't have to hold back out of fear. I can be who He created me to be.
