snaetzker added a text contribution Tithe and Beer Party?
According to this passage of scripture you are to give a tithe (1/10) of your profit for the year. If you happened to live too far you can sell your crops, or farm animals and bring the money to the temple. Then you are to spend the money on any food you want including wine and beer, so basically it is a big celebration that you are partaking in to thank the Lord for His provision for the year. Apparently... Read more »

1 Corinthians 13:1-4 states that if are actions are not done out of love, then our actions are vain and a waste of time. Now what about performing actions when we don't feel like it. Like performing an action like greeting someone at church when I really don't want to, and since it is not out of genuine love, then am I wasting my time? Suppose my wife asks me to do the dishes and I don't want... Read more »

The most privileged people in the history of the existence of man, was also the most wicked. The Hebrews who have seen their God tear asunder the Egyptians with Plagues that ultimately broke the Egyptians resolve to keep the Hebrews in captivity, and they also witnessed the mighty deliverance that God provided by parting the sea so that the Hebrews could cross safely. snaetzker added a text contribution It's Lurking From Within!
The psalmist said, "How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults." We are all born into sin which comes from the corrupt nature of our flesh. We can never be so holy that we are beyond the flesh, for pride is also an evil hiding in our hearts that would make us feel and think that we are better people than others, or better Christians than others, more... snaetzker added a text contribution One Nation Under God
The most amazing thing to ever happen in the history of the world besides the atonement for all men and women who accept Christ Jesus was the revelation that now all men are equal. Whether persons are Jew or Gentile, they are now on the same footing before God. Both Jewish Christians and Gentile Christians are now one people under God. Every concept like, "All men are created equal" come from this... Read more »

snaetzker added a text contribution No one may see God and live?
20 But you may not look directly at my face, for no one may see me and live."21 The Lord continued, "Look, stand near me on this rock.22 As my glorious presence passes by, I will hide you in the crevice of the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by.23 Then I will remove my hand and let you see me from behind. But my face will not be seen." In Genesis 18 God speaks to Abraham face... Read more »

snaetzker added a text contribution "There is no God!"
Only fools say in their hearts, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good! I can honestly tell you that I have seen the people of this world who hold that God does not exist as a maxim. They are complete idiots as the scriptures say for the evidence of creation itself and the universal moral law that governs our lives in the world should convince... Read more »

snaetzker added a text contribution Is Jesus the only way?
How can arrogant Christians claim that Jesus is the only way? How can they claim a monopoly on salvation, truth, and heaven? What about all of the other religions out there in the world!? Let me first say that no one is going to get upset if I say that 1 + 1 = 2. There is only one write answer for 1 + 1 but an infinite number of wrong answers for 1 + 1. Likewise, if the Christian faith is true... Read more »

snaetzker added a text contribution Are You Covered by the Blood?
But the blood on your doorposts will serve as a sign, marking the houses where you are staying. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt. Jesus is known as the Lamb of God that took away the sins of the world for those that have accepted Him as Lord and Savior. In Exodus 12 the passover lamb was sacrificed and the blood was... Read more »

Moses and Aaron performed these miracles in Pharaoh's presence, but the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he wouldn't let the Israelites leave the country. According to this passage it seems that God can harden our hearts against Him. This really seems problematic for sinners but we need some more context to understand this passage in its fullness. There has been several times that Moses performed... Read more »

Jesus tells us in these passages that there will be earthquakes in various places, famines, and people claiming to be the Messiah during the last days. People who are followers of God will be persecuted by their own families and governments. But Jesus said that He will give us the words to use so that we can refute them and they will not even be able to give a retort. With our witness we will be... Read more »

Zacchaues wanted to see Jesus, he like many others have heard of the amazing miracles and teachings that Jesus was doing throughout the region. He may himself actually witnessed some of these miracles and teachings. Jesus saw Zacchaeus and told him that He was going to be dining out his house. Zacchaues was over joyed! 29 "Yes," Jesus replied, "and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the Kingdom of God,30 will be repaid many times over in this life, and will have eternal life in the world to come." So does this mean that I need to ditch my family and go to the ends of the earth to take the gospel for the kingdom of God? Heck no! This is... Read more »

snaetzker added a text contribution Do you have a thankful heart?
Leprosy is horrible disease that prevents a person from being able to feel things physically. That's why a lot of lepors end up with missing limbs, because they will do things like sticking their hands into a fire to pull out food, and sense their pain receptors don't work, they then don't feel any pain at all and as a result, develop very dangerous infections that will force someone to get an amputation.... snaetzker added a text contribution How do I increase my faith?
I am really perplexed by this statement, this seems like a very important issue to most Christians today, that is, the desire for one's faith to increase. When the disciples asked Christ, "Show us how to increase our faith." How does Jesus respond? Not in a way that is really helpful, all He says is, "If you had faith like a mustard seed, you can tell this mulberry tree to be uprooted and throw... Read more »

So watch yourselves! "If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive.4 Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive." If you pay attention to the first part of the verse, you will notice that it is a conditional, that is, and if, then statement. So if a believer sins and you rebuke him, then... Read more »

Will God give me more? That depends! What are you doing now with the resources of this world that God has given you? Do you honor God with a tithe (10% of your income) so that He can bless your remaining 90%? Do you give to the poor and the needy when you see a need? How close is your heart to money? These things will factor in if God will trust you with more. It is true that you could do none... Read more »

snaetzker added a text contribution How much are we worth?
Given this passage alone I believe that if only one person in the world would repent and follow after Christ, God would still come in human flesh to save that one person. God's love is so profound I cannot believe how deep this love goes. He will leave the 99 for the 1? I would have wiped out the whole planet and considered it a lost investment, time to start over. But God would sweep down to... Read more »

snaetzker added a text contribution Is Salvation Free or Not?
This passage seems to go against my intuition that you don't have to work for salvation but it is a free gift. I suppose we must first accept the gift of salvation but afterwards there should be fruit showing that we have accepted the gift. There is a parable or illustration that Jesus gives us in John 15 where He explains that the Father is the vine dresser and that He cuts off the branches that... Read more »
