sonkyc added a text contribution The only boss that mattersI once heard a sermon about giants that Satan puts in our paths to try and throw us off of our callings. These giants can be a variety of people: friends, family, co-workers, and even pastors. We are the only ones that know our true calling in the kingdom. There are people that will remind us along the way of all of our failings, but we just have to remember that it isn't man that has called us to our commission, but God only is our leader. Read more »

sonkyc added a text contribution Searching for a SaviorThis seems like such a small unsubstantial verse, but it kept talking to me. How true, if you really think about it. Jesus had been performing miracles all day, people had witnessed unbelievable things and probably had told everyone they knew. People were lining up to just get a touch from Jesus. We don't have to line up anywhere. He is right where we are all the time. There are so many people that are searching for something. They turn to all types of vices trying to fill the "… Read more »

Generations upon generations had been going to pray, worship and giving their prayer requests to the priests at the temple because they weren't "good" enough to go before the altar. Then in one quick moment the ultimate sacrifice was made, and the veil that separated us from the king of kings was ripped from top to bottom. Meaning that nothing physical can ever again come between us and God, only things we put in the way but nothing that He has put there. Which means we have th… Read more »

sonkyc added a text contribution One life-One chanceSo many people think that being "good" is going to get them into heaven. It is by following Christ and striving to be Christ-like that we will get to heaven. We must trust in Him and not in ourselves. Read more »

sonkyc added a text contribution Unconditional forgivenessWe so often forgive with chains attached. " I forgive you but...." then we turn around and tell everyone how generous we are. This says to forgive unconditionally. I was thinking about that and decided that would be so much easier than keeping record of every wrong ever done to me. How much less stress if you looked at everything as a clean slate. Read more »

sonkyc added a text contribution Starving for a SaviorI have read this verse a thousand times and heard the story my whole life. How could I hve never realized that these people had been walking around following Jesus for three days without any food. I somehow knew they were hungry and He had to feed them. I however, did not realize they were starving. How pitiful I feel. I have tried fasting and by the first 12 hour stretch I am weak and complaining to myself. These people were simply feasting on our savior. They could have left, or found… Read more »

sonkyc added a text contribution Church is for the sickJesus didn't call us to sit around with other Christians and talk about heaven. He called us to heal the sick.
