They devote their time, energy, and money to God alone. They sell everything they own and shared the money with people in need. They met in homes! It is unfortunate that we have forgotten how to fellowship outside of the home, and must have a facility with a pulpit. Christian men of this country will follow everything else to a T, but cannot find a way to look away from a hot girl. I have a boss who is a deacon at his church. I talk with him everyday on the telephone and everyday there is a comment about some girl who is walking near him while he is in his car. Not you are the light of your home, city, county, region, country, but of the whole world. Do not get me wrong, we are in fact the light of all the places just listed. We can be the light of our home, city, county, region, country. But to put things into perspective...Jesus tells us we are the light of the world. Do we have that much faith that once our best friend begins to talk a little smack we walk away smiling and praising God that He/She just did that? I strive to be a beggar once again. I look back when I had no faith and began my journey as a young believer...I was the beggar in verse 42. Now as I have grown, became married, went on various mission trips, and read the Bible over and over, I have conviced myself that I have plateaued and my faith has flatlined. I read about the young Jews in this short passage and it re-ignites my fire that I once had, to be the young believer and have the desire to want to know more! I beg for one more week.… Read more »
