timstidham added a text contribution The Great CommissionThis is so pure and simple and amazing. It is the whole nature of what the church is to be about in every age. This weekend I was reminded of one little word in this fine pair of sentences: OBEY. We can't just relate to them and teach them. We must teach them how to obey. That's a lot harder. timstidham added a text contribution DevotionColossians 4:2 sets the table for a holy life. Devote yourself to prayer. Seems to be in line with 1 Thess 5:17, because thankfulness follows it as well. But love trumps fear everytime. "God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways...he gives you something you can then give away, which grows into full-formed… Read more »

timstidham added a text contribution God Owns it AllWhat a beautiful scene! Perhaps the crowning moment of David's reign. After a lifetime of spiritual successes and failures, David is down to his last big move. He wants to invest in something that will outlast him so he divests himself of earthly treasures. Truly the concept of the Kingdom of God gets a little clearer in a passage like this. "Everything in heaven, everything on earth; the kingdom all yours!" David surrenders his kingdom. David gives lavishly to God. David… Read more »
