    Reading these passages reminds me that it is not enough to know what the Bible says is the right thing to do but it is more important to practice what the Bible says -- loving our neighbors, being a blessing to others in any way that we can, not being critical and judgmental towards others, praying for those that we don't like and on and on.     Is God truly my first love? I often wonder. I have so often put myself, my children, my job, my friends, my husband, my mother and TV ahead of God in my life. I don't want to live like that anymore. I chose to pay my tithes instead of paying for my daughter's summer camp. It wasn't easy but I know that God will bless my sacrifice.     I miss entirely too many opportunities to share my faith with the lost. I don't want to sound religous or preachy about it so I usually cop out. I need a class in ways to translate Christanese into language that the lost can relate to. Read more »

    This makes me think of all the times that God provides a ram in the bush to meet our needs. I am still struggling with tithing. I feel like such a hypocrite for not putting my faith in God with my finances. How can I trust God with my eternal soul but not my money?     How do we love like Christ? Should we be willing to die for others? It is so hard to love the unlovable, those who mistreat us, those who are rude, mean and nasty towards people. What do we gain by loving those who hate us? We gain more souls for the kingdom by our faithful witness. Why is it easier to be loving towards strangers than family? Read more »
