I love these four verses: Psalm 144:1-4. I think that these are great verses for guys; guys who are feeling down, who feel like giving up. It's hard not to get pumped when reading these verses. They remind us that God is the one that we need to root ourselves on(144:1) and that we can rely on Him and run to Him when things simply are not going well(144:2) and the last two of these verses remind us how small we are compared to God and how much we need Him. These are good verses to read in th… Read more »

wongkonpow added a text contribution So true
This is a fairly simple verse, easy to pass over, but there is so much truth in it. If we were out to please other people then we wouldn't be God's servants. We would be servants to our selves and to other people. We wouldn't be free. Read more »

wongkonpow added a text contribution Very Important!
This verse is SO important in today's age where atheists are all about looking to start arguments. We are not here to argue with people about the existence of God. God doesn't need us defending Him. We are here to share the love and hope He has given us. It says be ready to give an answer, because the Holy Spirit gives us opportunities to tell people about Him. We shouldn't be forcing opportunities. Have faith, God will provide opportunities. Yelling at people and arguing childish… Read more »

wongkonpow added a text contribution Rejoicing in suffering
Oh man, it will be a while before I am in the place where I can rejoice in the Lord for being counted worthy of suffering the way He did. I hope one day I can achieve it. One day at a time I suppose. Read more »

Two thousand years later and we're still here. We're still following Jesus and being guided by the Holy Spirit. You cannot fight against God. It started with the Apostles and by the grace of God it will end with me, or my offspring, or my offspring's offspring, etc. I'd love to be here when Jesus comes back. Read more »

wongkonpow added a text contribution God's law is higher
We are called to obey the laws of our land, but we should always remember that God's law is higher. It blatantly says there "We must obey God rather than men!..." In Toronto, Canada it is illegal to give food to homeless people. I plan to anyway. Mind you I could get around it by giving them a gift card for some restaurant, but I am speaking of the principles of it. Jesus said that whenever we give to the needy or feed the hungry or cloth the naked that we do this for Him as well… Read more »

wongkonpow added a text contribution Thinking slightly differently
Jesus silenced the demon so he could not reveal that He was the Son of God and what was to happen. The thought crossed my mind that Jesus could also be telling him to be silent in the way a king tells a man to be quiet. He wants not to hear what foolish things he has to say. Read more »

I think this can speak out to all of us, particularly the answer to prayer. We pray and pray, but when God actually grants us the prayer, of healing, or what have you, we are often surprised. We shouldn't be. We should be praying with an expectancy and faith so that when God actually moves in our lives, we aren't taken aback, but simply expecting it to have happened the whole time. Leaves more time for joy and praising Him for his amazing power and grace. Read more »

wongkonpow added a text contribution Living Without Fear
For those that follow God, there is no need to fear what may happen tomorrow or even in a year or ten years. God has a plan for us, to prosper us. No matter what comes our way, we will prosper in the end. All we have to do is trust in Him and His will. Read more »

wongkonpow added a text contribution Amazing
Ephesians 2:8-9 I love those two verses. I take it as being the fact that we need Jesus to get to Heaven and that works will simply not get us there because we are inadequate without Christ. But I think it can also be taken as the fact that it is God's grace that saves us and works, good or bad, cannot change that. No matter how bad we screw up, if we go back to Him in humility and honesty, then His grace will accept us back. Read more »
