zzaarr added a link contribution Day 1 - Gen 1:4 - The LightI noticed something while reading through Genesis 1. Only one creation was singled out and called good, and that is the creation, light. Light is a big theme in the Bible and it especially reminds me of Apostle John's gospel and letter. Why is light a good creation? It is good because it illuminates. Without light we would all be stumbling in the darkness, tripping over everything, knocking into each other. The world as we know would be a very different place. Light is a creation. If one hears today, "Bill wore a white shirt to work today." Does one think that Bill wore only a white shirt and nothing else? Of course not. So I don't think that John was only wearing camel's hair and a leather belt for clothes. What then is the point of this passage? I believe the author of Mark wanted to point out… Read more »
